Beautiful Black fraternity and sorority couples have existed for over 100 years, making a significant impact on their communities. Some prominent D9 couples from the Harlem Renaissance era include Paul Robeson (Alpha) & Eslanda Goode Robeson (Delta), B. Beatrix Scott (AKA) & James Edward Scott (Κappa), and Roy W. Tibbs (Sigma) & Lillian Evanti (Ζeta). These couples, such as Julia Washington Bond (Delta) & Horace Mann Bond (Kappa) and Allison Davis (Omega) & Elizabeth Stubbs Davis (Delta), worked together to advance education and social progress.
