Milwaukee Bucks forward Bobby Portis Jr. has been suspended for 25 games by the NBA for violating the league’s anti-drug policy after testing positive for the opioid pain medication tramadol. Portis’ agent stated that his client unintentionally took the banned substance, mistaking it for a different medication. Portis apologized to the Bucks organization and their fans, acknowledging his mistake and expressing his commitment to returning stronger. The Bucks general manager expressed support for Portis and emphasized the team’s readiness to grow and improve during his absence. Portis, a 10-year veteran, will miss a significant portion of the season due to the suspension.
