- Due to the unprecedented impacts of Hurricane Helene on our residents, the City of St. Petersburg has worked with our partners at PSTA to initiate a two-week period of free fares within St. Pete city limits beginning Monday, Sept. 30.

The St. Pete Emergency Zero Fare Program has been put in place to assist the thousands of residents who have suffered a complete loss of their vehicles due to water inundation, in addition to the impacts on their homes and other aspects of their lives. The City understands that residents are incurring additional financial burdens due to the storm’s impacts all across the City, regardless of whether they lost a vehicle, or live in a flood-prone neighborhood.

The fare-free period will run from Monday, Sept. 30 through Sunday, Oct. 13. Free fares will apply to regular bus trips that begin and end in St. Pete. Fares will be reinstated on Monday, Oct. 14, 2024.

“As part of the City’s recovery efforts and in order to reduce the financial and transportation impacts Helene has caused, the City has made this arrangement to assist our residents with their essential transportation needs and as a small gesture to help everyone through this tough time,” said Mayor Kenneth T. Welch.

Riders should be aware that the SunRunner is turning around at Pasadena due to westbound access limitations.

This is a pilot program and does not apply to Access, MOD, or other mobility programs.

PSTA routes, schedules, and more can be found at psta.net .
