For the first time in her career, Alicia Keys has earned a RIAA Diamond Certified Single. It is for her and Jay Z’s single “Empire State of Mind.” This means it’s sold the equivalent of 10 million copies in the United States. The song first came out 15 years ago. With the recent update attached to ‘Empire,’ Keys’ cumulative single sales now equal 38 million in the United States – making her one of the best-selling female R&B singers of all time.
