Cyber Monday is the most popular ONLINE shopping day of the year. But is it also #1 overall now? A poll by Bankrate.com found 59% of Americans planned to shop today, compared to just 53% who planned to shop on Black Friday. But hold on, because the National Retail Federation disagrees. They claim Black Friday is still #1, and it’s not all that close. According to their own survey, 183 million people planned to shop between Thanksgiving and today. And of those people, 72% were shopping on Black Friday, while just 39% planned to shop on Cyber Monday. Black Friday could even be muscling its way back in when it comes to ONLINE sales. Americans are expected to spend $13.2 billion on Cyber Monday this year, up 6% from 2023. But Black Friday is making gains at $10.8 billion, up 10% from last year.
