It’s almost 2025, and somehow, the world is still turning. Maybe a little too fast. Buzzfeed put together a list of almost 60 pop culture moments from 2015 that’ll be a decade old in the coming year.
Here are some highlights:
1. “Star Wars” returned with “The Force Awakens”.
2. “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2″ came out, ending the original “Hunger Games” saga.
3. Hoverboards were a big thing, and Apple Watches made their debut.
4. The peach and eggplant emojis came into popular use for SEXTING.
5. “Uptown Funk” by Mark Ronson featuring Bruno Mars was the biggest song of the year.
6. LEFT SHARK upstaged Katy Perry during the Super Bowl Halftime Show.
7. Zayn Malik announced his departure from One Direction.
8. Taylor Swift’s 1989 Tour was the highest-grossing tour of the year.
9. Steve Harvey announced the wrong Miss Universe.
10. The Mannequin Challenge and Pizza Rat dominated social media.
11. Big celebrity weddings included Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux, Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello, and Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher. Meanwhile, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner announced their divorce.
12. Tom Holland was cast as Spider-Man.
