Hope Florida, a nonprofit started in 2021 by Governor Ron DeSantis’ wife Casey, is under fire for not telling state lawmakers or auditors about its activities or structure as required in state statutes. State lawmakers are also taking issue with a settlement between health care company Centene and the state’s Medicaid administrator, AHCA. The state received $57 million, but there was a separate agreement for a $10 million donation to Hope Florida which has now come into question.
“I have to believe that all Ts were crossed, Is dotted, to ensure the authority was there,” said AHCA secretary Shevaun Harris. You can check the full story here and hear the Governor’s response to all of this below.
