Outrage In Riverview, FL - White Homeowner Threatens 9-Year-Old Black Girl Selling Candy

Riverview, FL homeowner Tyler Chambers is catching heat after posting a picture of a young Black girl who was selling candy with her 11-year-old cousin and rang his doorbell and captioned it, “You’re lucky we weren’t home to shoot your a— dumb b—.”

He made the post in a community group, and it was quickly screenshot and reshared all over social media. Neighbors and others have expressed shock and disgust that Chambers aimed violent threats at a child, but they also made mention of the racist overtones in his post.

After the post started to go viral, the child’s mother Beyond Shabazz, offered some clarity on her daughter’s visit to Chambers’ home.

She explained that her family lives in the same community as Chambers. On April 14, her 9-year-old daughter, Sincere, and 11-year-old niece came home from school around 4 p.m. and then left to go sell candy around the neighborhood, which is why the children visited the Chambers’ home.

She is also planning to file charges against Chambers. Get the full story here.

Pretty sure that we haven’t heard the last of this one.
