Pinellas County was awarded $813 million in storm recovery funds by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The money was granted to help deal with the aftermath of Hurricane Idalia in 2023 and Hurricanes Milton and Helene in 2024.
According to county leaders the funds can be used to rebuild or repair homes and businesses, provide rental assistance, repair damaged infrastructure or otherwise address the needs of the community.
Now the county is asking for your help to figure out what to do with the money. You can give your input by taking this online survey and making your voice heard. They are also having meetings where you can voice your concerns. All the info on the storm recovery fund and public meeting dates can be found here.
